IRA Disclosure

Version 1.0Effective August 29, 2026

This page explains how United Reserve Trust describes IRA eligibility, and the relationship between United Reserve Trust, IRA custodians and depositories. It should be read together with our Risk Disclosure and Terms & Conditions.

1. "IRA-Eligible" Is a Product Description, Not a Guarantee

Where a product on this website is labeled IRA-eligible, that label means the product is generally eligible for certain self-directed IRAs when acquired and held in accordance with applicable requirements — including purity/fineness standards and custody through a qualified custodian and approved depository. It is not a representation that the product is suitable for you, that a particular custodian will accept it, or that your specific account permits it.

We do not use the phrase "IRS-approved" to describe products or storage facilities, because the IRS does not approve or endorse individual dealers, products or storage providers. Where this website previously used that phrase, it has been replaced with more accurate language.

2. How Eligibility Labeling Works

United Reserve Trust does not allow eligibility labels to be applied to a product by marketing or sales staff alone. Before a product publicly displays an IRA-eligible label, it is expected to carry an internal review status of either counsel-verified or custodian-verified, along with a record of who verified it, when, and against what source (for example, IRS purity/fineness rules or written custodian guidance). Products without that verification are not represented as IRA-eligible.

The verification workflow described above is an internal policy. Implementing it as an enforced, database-backed system (with audit history per product) requires backend infrastructure this website does not currently have. Until that infrastructure exists, eligibility labeling is maintained manually against this same standard, and should be a priority to formalize before scaling the catalog.

3. Custodians and Depositories Are Independent of United Reserve Trust

United Reserve Trust is a precious-metals dealer. We are not an IRA custodian, trust company, bank or depository. If you use a self-directed IRA to purchase precious metals through us, your account is opened with and administered by an independent, qualified custodian, and eligible metals are stored at an independent U.S. depository used in connection with qualified self-directed IRA custodial arrangements. Those third parties operate under their own agreements, fee schedules and terms with you — separate from your agreement with United Reserve Trust.

Any reference on this website to a specific custodian or depository is illustrative unless a current, signed partnership agreement is in place; it should not be treated as a finalized relationship until separately confirmed to you in writing.

4. Rollover and Transfer Rules Are Determined by the Custodian and the IRS — Not by Us

Whether you are eligible to open a self-directed IRA, transfer or roll over existing retirement funds, and how much you may contribute or move, are governed by IRS rules and by your plan administrator or custodian's own requirements. United Reserve Trust does not make eligibility determinations and does not advise on the tax consequences of a rollover or transfer. Confirm eligibility and process details with your plan administrator, your IRA custodian, and your own tax adviser before moving funds.

5. Storage Language

We describe depository storage as an independent U.S. depository used in connection with qualified self-directed IRA custodial arrangements. We do not describe storage facilities as "IRS-approved," since approval of storage arrangements runs through the custodian relationship and applicable IRS rules, not through an endorsement of the facility by the IRS itself.

6. Questions

If anything about how a product's IRA eligibility was determined is unclear, ask before you transact. Contact us at info@unitedreservetrust.com.
