Risk Disclosure
Please read this disclosure carefully before purchasing precious metals. It is part of our Terms & Conditions.
1. Precious Metals Can Lose Value
Gold, silver, platinum and palladium prices are volatile and can move sharply in both directions. Precious metals have experienced significant historical drawdowns, including multi-year declines, and there have been extended periods when they underperformed other major asset classes. You can lose money purchasing precious metals, including within a retirement account.
2. Transaction Costs Affect Results
Dealer premiums, spreads between purchase and buyback prices, and third-party custodian and storage fees all affect real-world results. A metal's market price must rise enough to cover these costs before a purchase becomes profitable. We present the transaction economics — reference value, premium, total and indicative same-day buyback — before any transaction so these costs are visible to you in advance.
3. No Guaranteed Buyback Price
While we maintain a buyback process, buyback prices are set at the time of the buyback quote based on market conditions, product type and applicable transaction terms. No future buyback price is guaranteed, and liquidity conditions can vary.
4. Past Performance
Historical performance data and comparisons shown on this website — including comparisons over periods you select — are historical only, use the methodology displayed with them, do not include all costs, taxes or personal circumstances, and do not guarantee or predict future performance.
5. Not Insurance Against Loss
Independent custody and depository storage address the safekeeping and administration of assets. They do not protect against market losses. Custody security is not investment performance. Precious metals held in an IRA are not bank deposits and are not insured by the FDIC or any government agency against loss of value.
6. Retirement Account Considerations
Moving retirement funds involves rules regarding eligibility, transfers, rollovers, taxes and potential penalties that depend on your specific situation. United Reserve Trust does not make tax or legal eligibility determinations. Consult the account custodian and your own tax or legal advisers before moving retirement funds.
7. Concentration and Suitability
Precious metals do not produce income and may be more suitable as part of a diversified approach than as a concentrated holding. Any allocation percentages shown in our tools are hypothetical scenarios you choose to explore — they are not recommendations. Only you can decide what, if anything, is appropriate for your circumstances.
8. Questions
If anything about a transaction's economics or risks is unclear, ask before you approve it. Contact us at info@unitedreservetrust.com.
